3D MapView issue with Apple's Snow Leopard release

Posted by Olav in Untagged

Olav

With Apples recent OSX 10.6 release aka Snow Leopard the myVR 3D MapView NPAPI plug-in will no longer work with the Safari browser.

This is due to the fact that Apple now has made Safari a full fledged 64-bit application. The 3D MapView NPAPI plug-in is a 32 bit binary and we thought that this would work fine with Safari since the plug-in technically should not need to be a 64 bit binary due to the fact that they are running as a seperate process. But, alas this is no longer the case as the plug-in still needs to communicate with Safari and that means using new 64 bit Cocoa based APIs instead of the old Carbon based NPAPI.
