Corporate Profile

myVR software AS was founded in August 2003 after years with research and development projects on 3D distribution and viewing technology. myVR Software is a technology development company that licenses our patented real time 3D VR technology to diverse industries such as; Oil & Gas, Building & Construction, Government, Web Portals as well as to other traditional and emerging digital markets.

myVR Software patented technology platform enables high-resolution real-time interactive network streaming of 3D geometry and graphics over networks with even limited bandwidth (+256kbps) on any 3D hardware supported (OpenGL) client platform including mobile (OpenGL ES). Our vision is to provide a versatile state of the art technology platform that makes is possible to bring large scale 3D model real time viewing for anyone, anywhere! This is the best way to maximize the ROI for existing and new 3D data as well as dramatically improve the visual communication means for everyone.

myVR Software ownership is distributed between employees and investors. The largest shareholder is Viking Venture, a well renowned venture capital firm in Norway, which has a 46% ownership stake.

Rune Fjellvang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Co-Founder

Previous IT sector experience includes management of large organizations and complex international financial and contractual arrangements. He has successfully built sales and marketing organizations and world wide distribution channels with more than 15 years of international SW channel experience. Previous positions: Management Consultant, Country Manager Hugin Norway AS, Managing Director/Sales director at Rasterex (International) AS and project/product Manager at SystemTeknikk AS. Mr. Fjellvang holds a degree in management from Military Academy of Artillery in Norway, as well as an MBA from Heriot-Watt university in Edinburgh, UK.

Olav A. Sylthe, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

IT sector experience includes management of large development teams and more than 20 years of international SW experience. He is a successful entrepreneur having co-founded and sold two software companies. Some previous positions; Manager - Advanced Business Content Group at Research In Motion LTD (Canada/USA), CTO - Arizan Inc (USA), Vice President of R&D - Rasterex (Norway/USA), Development Manager - Academus AS (Norway). Mr. Sylthe graduated from Møre & Romsdal College (Norway) with a degree in Information Science. He's an inventor/co-inventor on eleven (11) US Patents.

Stig Ronald Kristiansen, Chief Software Architect (CSA) & Co-Founder

Previous IT experience includes more than 15 years experience in software architecture, development and design. He has worked extensively with 3D distribution and viewing technology specializing in OpenGL based 3D rendering software. Some previous technology positions include: Partner and Tech. Dev. Manager for Avatar Works Consulting AS, Deputy CTO for MGI Technology AS. Stig holds one (1) US Patent.
